Project #1: Infrastructure Upgrade – Direct Buried Utilities

Scope: Planning and managing of a buried utility upgrade project including chilled water, well water, fresh water, fire main and compressed air replacement.  Tie-ins utilities to (3) independent buildings.

Obstacles:  Directional boring under an existing building in a confined construction area.

Highlights:  Installed 3400 ft of utilities in 4 months.

Project #2: Infrastructure Upgrade – Steam and Condensate Replacement

Scope: Planning and managing of a utility upgrade project including steam and condensate in concrete trench boxes. Tie-ins utilities to (3) independent buildings.

Obstacles:  Project efforts required taking over direct access to loading dock and adjacent buildings.

Highlights:  Needed to coordinate work efforts to accommodate critical daily deliveries for business as usual in surrounding building.

Project #3: RTU Replacement

Scope: Planning and coordination for the replacement of (3) large Air Handling Units (AHU’s) and associated ductwork and electrical panels.

Obstacles:  Hoisting of (3) large units adjacent to O’Hare International Airport.

Highlights:  Permitting and close coordination with FAA and building owner for safe installation.

MANUFACTURING

Project: Exploratory Process Enhancement

Scope: Planning and coordination of trades to upgrade a process for enzyme production in fermentation process. installation of new nozzle on existing pressure rated vessel, steel erection. Tie-ins to chilled water, steam, condensate and process water.

Obstacles:  Access to area – tight workspace.

Highlights:  Project was executed while adhering to daily changing production guidelines set by the client.

UTILITIES

Project: HVAC Cooling Unit Installation

Scope: Planning and coordination for the replacement of (25) HVAC cooling units throughout site + (3) self-contained rooftops.  Close coordination with owner to minimize downtime.

Obstacles:  Access to area – tight work space.

Highlights:  Project was completed in a short time frame to minimize affects of increased temperatures on the facility equipment.

FOOD INDUSTRY

Project: Reroute Sanitary Sewer

Scope: Planning and coordination for the rerouting of interior/exterior sanitary sewer in a food facility including tie-ins to city sewer laterals.

Obstacles: Installation of sewer in an operating food production facility.

Highlights: Underground work in  a 24/7 operation had to be closely coordinated with production managers to plan area access.  Dust containment during floor saw cutting was a critical operational element.

FOOD INDUSTRY

Project: Dry Goods

Scope: Planning and coordination for the installation of dry goods storage (4 silos) and conveyance (flour/sugar) and explosion proof duct work.

Obstacles: Installation of dry goods alterations in an operating plant.

Highlights: Were able to adhere to strict regulatory requirements while constructing a new process in an exciting facility.
